Janet Werther
Choreographer/
Performer

Janet Werther received her MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College under the direction of Sara Rudner. She has performed locally and regionally with Anne Burnidge and Dancers and Missy Pfhol-Smith/BIODANCE. Her choreography has been presented at The Tank, Movement Research Open Perform, Rochester Contemporary Dance Collective, Buffalo Infringement, and the Dance/NOW RAW series among others. She is currently developing "Someone, I tell you, will Remember us," a full length dance theater work, with support from the Fieldwork Summer Intensive via The Field and a space grant from Greenspace in Queens. Janet and her collaborators (JW/Motion Mix) anticipate showing selections from that work at Dance Conversations @ the Flea in March. Her writing has been published on Critical Correspondence, and she recently embarked on The Adventure through Danspace Project, curated/directed by Trajal Harrell. Janet is also a dance teacher, a lighting designer, and a fiscally sponsored artist through New York Live Arts (NYLA).

Emily Giovine
Performer

Emily Giovine attended Barnard College, where she studied English and Dance. At Barnard, she had the opportunity to dance in works by Bill Young, Colleen Thomas, Vicky Shick, Laura Dean, Stephen Petronio, Gerald Casel, and Heather McArdle, Tara Willis and Emily Bock. She received additional training from Doug Varone and Dancers and at the American Dance Festival, where she performed in work by Ruth Andrien. While she currently lives on the Lower East Side, she is originally from Cooperstown, NY.

 

Sheila Klein
Performer

Sheila Klein is a summa cum-laude graduate of the University of
Michigan, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine
Arts in Dance. Sheila has performed with AlexanDance, and Artichoke
Dance Company in NYC, and with the University of Michigan Dance
Department, White Void Productions, Ann Arbor Dance Works, the
Michigan RhythM Tap Ensemble in Ann Arbor, MI. She has had the
pleasure of working with tremendous artists, including Amy Chavasse,
Peter Sparling, Alex Springer, Xan Burley, Monica Bill Barnes, Lindsey
Dietz-Marchant, and others. Sheila recently presented work as part of the Take Root series at Greenspace in Long Island City, Queens, NY. She is a certified yoga teacher. She is employed both at Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX) and Spoke the Hub in Brooklyn, NY.
